The former chief of staff of the mayor of Saint-Denis, Frédéric Bonnot, found a post at the town hall of the city this week. He becomes general manager of the real estate trade “Saint-Denis Commerce” which makes it possible to acquire, renovate and operate commercial premises, reports France Bleu Paris on Friday August 19, confirming information from the Parisian. He had been removed from his post a year earlier, in August 2021, after he compared a veiled woman to a “bat”.

The mayor justifies this appointment by specifying to France Bleu Paris that it is only an administrative position. “His fault was of a political nature and there was a sanction. He no longer holds a political position”explains the town hall.

During the first round of the regional and departmental elections, on June 20, 2021, the RN candidate, Jordan Bardella, is filmed in a polling station in Saint-Denis facing a veiled assessor.

The image, shared in a private WhatsApp conversation from the mayor’s office, was then commented on by Frédéric Bonnot who described the assessor as “bat”. He apologized a few days later.
