A change in the organization of the final stages of the Women’s Basketball Eurocup. Because of the Covid, the Fiba (International Basketball Federation) announces a modification for the semi-finals and the final of the small European Cup.
Decision taken due to the many postponements that had to take place because of the epidemic: the Eurocup took a month behind schedule. To avoid the risks associated with further travel of the teams, the final phases will therefore take place over three days.
A month late in the competition because of the Covid
It will therefore not be play-offs with home and away matches, but a Final Four. The semi-finals and the final will take place at the same place, between April 5 and 7. The chosen location has not yet been announced.
To qualify for this Final Four, it will first be necessary to pass the eighth and the quarter-finals. Tangos de Bourges travel to Athens on February 23 to face Olympiakos in the first leg. The return match will be played at the Prado on March 2.
If the Berruyères are qualified for the rest of the competition, Fiba offers two options for the quarter-finals: either the first leg on March 10 and the return on March 17, or the first leg on March 15 and the return on March 18. .
