The forest of the Saoû massif, an exceptional forest

The multiplicity of environments offers us to see a great diversity of species, we could say the forests of the Saoû massif, between the lowest point which rises to a little less than 400m and the highest point around 1590m we go from an almost Mediterranean landscape to a mountain landscape with sometimes very rare species.

Numerous classifications protect this place which is full of sometimes very rare species, both in terms of fauna and flora, frequented each year by more than a hundred thousand visitors, these legislative levers are useful for preserving this atypical natural area, one of the first decrees application called “protective forest” was born at the beginning of the 20th century.
