He apparently came up on his own around 2 p.m. after several hours of negotiations with a gendarmerie psychologist.
According to information relayed by BFM TV Nice Côte d’Azur a little earlier in the day, the athlete would have parked his vehicle on the emergency lane before putting himself in danger at the edge of the viaduct. Initially, a possible romantic breakup was mentioned as the reason. However, some information available online suggests that Alexis Beka Beka’s act would not have “strictly nothing to see” with this situation and would even be “totally out of context”. Representatives of the OGC Nice player reportedly told Instant Foot: “We will not comment further on this story.”

A press conference postponed
According to The Team, a press conference that was initially scheduled for midday was postponed. This conference was to welcome coach Francesco Farioli and French international defender Jean-Clair Todibo, two days before the match against Brest in Ligue 1.
