Laurent Delahousse presented an unpublished number of 8:30 p.m., Sunday on France 2. The host received singer Patrick Bruel, comedian Inès Reg and footballer Olivier Giroud. The French striker was not on set but answered the journalist’s questions, in duplex, from his home in Milan.
The opportunity to look back on his career, from his difficult beginnings to the record of goals scored in the French team that he beat during the World Cup. Like most of his teammates, “Olive” took time to digest the failure in the World Cup final in Qatar. However, it is not on this image that he intends to put an end to his story in blue. Although his friends, Raphaël Varane or Hugo Lloris have made the decision to stop, the 36-year-old man wants to continue the adventure. “You take me to a bit of tricky ground”he began by saying. “No it’s not over, I’m not ready to take off this blue jersey which is close to my heart for the moment, I still have the motivation and the physique to continue. I can still be selected”.
This same question came up when he confided two weeks ago, in front of the cameras of Canal+. The former Montpellier resident then replied: “For the moment I continue, it’s true that it did something to me to see Hugo Lloris stop after all these years together, the relationship I have with him is a page that turns, that made me think. Anything can happen. From the moment I haven’t announced my retirement, I’m selectable. I have to wonder if I still want to wear this blue jersey, you know how much it is important. I take my time to make my decision”.
