The flu seemed to have disappeared since the appearance of Covid-19. It makes its big comeback in March, later than in previous years.

For several days, Guy Cadoche, general practitioner has seen consultations for flu syndromes explode. If the flu arrives with a slight delay, it is indeed back. “There is a very marked increase in the number of patients. Usually at this time of year you see a few cases of flu in isolation, [mais] for a week we have had a very significant increase in consultations for flu-like syndrome”comments the doctor.

The previous week, four regions were still spared. On Saturday March 19, the epidemic spread throughout the country. The virus circulated little in 2021, which explains the impression of a peak this year. The delay is also explained by the wearing of a mask and the barrier gestures, imposed until February. More than half of people at risk, especially seniors, have been vaccinated. The epidemic should slow down with the arrival of fine weather.
