A family worried about not being able to reach their eldest, a 91-year-old woman living alone, gives the alert on Monday. The firefighters intervene, the house is closed, the gendarmes force the door.
They then discover the old lady lifeless in the basement of the house, in a state of hypothermia. This woman was obviously doing her housework when the living room floor collapsed. The old lady fell 2.50 meters and found herself in this part of the house plagued by humidity, a small leak of water had been flowing for a very long time. It is this continuous water leak in the cellar which explains this state of hypothermia.
She lost consciousness, and would have stayed many hours so in the humidity. She suffers from trauma to her leg and arm. She was evacuated to the Montpellier University Hospital.
