the FLNC threatens to return to action

In a press release authenticated by our colleagues from Corse-Matin, the F.LN.C. shows its support for Yvan Colonna and the youth who “seized” the “revolt”. The clandestine movement bringing together the structures Union des combatants and 22 October also threatens to react in turn.

A few hours before the arrival in Corsica of Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin, the F.LN.C. issues a new warning. Through a press release authenticated by Corse-Matin, the clandestine structure bringing together the Union of Fighters and October 22 warns without ambiguity: “If the French State still remained deaf (…), there could be no sacrifice of youth that did not lead to a proportionate reaction on our part”.

In a brief, one-page text, the press release sends a “fraternal message to Yvan Colonna and his family” and denounce a “contemptuous denial (…) brought to its climax with the monstrous assassination attempt on Yvan Colonna in Arles which caused absolutely no reaction from the French Executive”.

Infernal spiral

The clandestine structure returns to the political context and insists on the victories of the nationalists in the elections: “After 50 years of fighting, pain and sacrifice, the Corsican people thought they had come out of this infernal spiral in 2015 and 2017”.

And criticize the “response of the State to the worthy peaceful aspiration of the people”assimilated to “ignorance”.

Balance of power

“But contempt breeds anger, and anger breeds revolt. And among us the revolt provokes the insurrection », continues the press release. The F.LN.C. also indicates having “certainty that with the French State only the balance of power could achieve the just demands of a people who only ask to exist”.

Youth support

Observing that “the youth took hold of this revolt and made it their own”, the clandestine structure sees the opportunity to accompany or even weigh in on the mobilization of the last 10 days and announces that it will bring its “support for Corsican youth in struggle”.

And warn: “Quickly, the street fights of today will be those of the maquis of the night tomorrow”.
