Thursday February 8, the “An idea for France” section of 13 Heures highlights the “Pêcheurs du coeur” association, which cooks for people at the end of their lives.

Mathieu Ferreira, founder of “Fishermen of the Heart” collects fish with his association. Once a year, the members cook and share a meal with the residents of a palliative care center, in which Mathieu Ferreira’s mother died fifteen years earlier. The catch of the day is sent to the kitchens of the palliative care center. Léa Combelonge, fisherman at heart, takes care of the cooking. The members of the association then eat with the patients and residents, who enjoy themselves.

Fish soups for the most deprived

On the 13 Heures set, Thursday February 8, Valérie Heurtel shares other initiatives from “Fishermen of the Heart”. “The association also works for the most deprived. For several years, it has been preparing fish soups which it distributes on the sidewalk to those who need it”, explains the journalist. For those who don’t know how to cook, but who like to tinker, there are “Companion builders”. “This association helps precarious families to improve their housing”concludes Valérie Heurtel.
