The administrative investigation launched by Nicole Belloubet, after the April 2 attack on Samara at the Arthur-Rimbaud college in Montpellier, will be extended by one week, the Ministry of Education announced on Friday April 12. Of the “initial results show complex conflict situations and malicious use of networks, but must still be supplemented by the work of the mission which will continue next week,” However, the ministry writes in a press release.
“These accounts allow the dissemination of humiliating photomontages and diverted videos causing a climate of aggression between students. The comments in question appear to be marked by a sexist and sexual nature,” he explains. The mission “will continue its work next week on site, in parallel with the judicial investigation”In “waiting for the final conclusions of this mission to take, if necessary, the necessary decisions”, it is written.
Entrusted to general inspectors, the investigation was launched two days after the attack on the 14-year-old girl, in order to clarify the facts. It aims, among other things, to determine whether any errors have been committed by the establishment’s staff.
“The mission conducted more than twenty interviews”but “given the school holiday period, the ongoing legal investigation and the strong emotion among the teenager’s relatives and the educational community, the mission has not yet been able to interview all the witnesses, particularly the students.”, explains the ministry in a press release. This mission “heard Samara’s mother for a long time, but she has not yet been able to hear the victim herself”, it is specified. The young girl, seriously injured, was in a coma and came out the day after the attack.
According to the Montpellier public prosecutor’s office, the teenager had been the victim of“invective” on social networks. Three minors aged 14 and 15 who admitted to having hit the teenager were indicted for “attempted intentional homicide” and placed under judicial supervision.
