The first peak in electricity consumption of the year is expected on Wednesday January 10 by RTE, the manager of the high voltage network, franceinfo has learned. “Everything is going to be fine,” promised Monday January 8 on franceinfo Agnès Pannier-Runacher. “We have a lot of electricity that we produce, and we have so much that we export”reassured the Minister of Energy Transition.

On Tuesday, the country experienced one of the coldest days in six years, with negative temperatures, accompanied by snowfall from Normandy to Paris. “Météo France predicts further snowfall in the afternoon and evening”in Île-de-France, indicated the Paris police headquarters Tuesday afternoon in a press release.

Also according to Météo France, seven departments remain on orange snow and ice alert on Wednesday: Manche, Calvados, Orne, Eure, Eure-et-Loir, Yvelines and Essonne.
