The literary prize season is well underway and the (numerous) finalists of the first list for the Renaudot Prize were announced on Thursday in Paris.
Among the 18 names there (compared to 16 last year), we notice several authors also appearing on the Goncourt list, unveiled earlier this week, such as Kamel Daoud (Houris), Gaël Faye (Jacaranda), Philippe Jaenada (Casualness is a beautiful thing.), Olivier Norek (The Winter Warriors) and Jean-Noël Orengo (You are the Führer’s unhappy love).
There are no Quebecers on the list this year.
In 2023, Éric Chacour and his novel What I know about you had gone to the second selection of the Renaudot prize.
The second selection will be announced on October 3 and the finalists on October 24. The winner will be announced on November 4, at the same time as the Goncourt Prize.
