No Quebec title appears this year in the first selection of the Prix Médicis, won last year by Kev Lambert for his novel May our joy remain.
Among the 16 French novels chosen are, among others: No respectby Emmanuelle Lambert (Stock), The Jaguar’s Dreamby Miguel Bonnefoy (Rivages), and Love Gilby Shane Haddad (POL).
Fourteen foreign novels were also selected, including Question 7 (Actes Sud), by the Australian Richard Flanagan, and History of a domesticationfrom Argentina Camila Sosa Villada (Métailié).
Finalists will be announced on October 9 and winners on November 6.
