20 humanitarian aid trucks entered the Gaza Strip from Egypt on Saturday October 21.
After so much waiting, the door between Egypt and Gaza finally opened this SATURDAY 21st of October. Humanitarian aid reaches the enclave for the first time since the Hamas attack. A very brief opening, only around twenty vehicles were able to pass. But for the Gazans, this is a first victory. 175 trucks parked in a line in front of the border were waiting. “These trucks are not just trucks, they will make all the difference between life and death in Gaza,” said Antonio Gutterres, secretary general of the ONU, the day before. He went there in person to demand the opening of this humanitarian corridor.
Other passages planned
The UN has warned: this convoy must not be the last, a new passage is planned for Monday. In Gaza, bi-national families are still waiting to leave the enclave, which has been bombed for 2 weeks.
