The first documentary of “Le Devoir” finalist at the Gémeaux awards

The duty is a finalist for the Gémeaux awards for documentary Composing the new instrumental wave by Étienne Ravary and Annabelle Caillou.

Opening the door to the world of Alexandra Stréliski, Jean-Michel Blais, Flore Laurentienne and Simon Leoza, this documentary invites us to explore the creative process of those who make up the new instrumental wave.

This appointment “is a first in the history of the Duty “, underlined its director, Brian Myles. “Even in our wildest dreams, we would not have imagined such a scenario when creating our video team”, who was then making his first documentary.

In competition with four Société Radio-Canada productions, The duty could thus win the prize for the best original report produced for digital media.

“This success belongs first and foremost to the team that gave birth to this experimental project, the kind of project that The duty can’t afford every day, Myles pointed out. They can be proud. Even if some of them are no longer Duty, we are grateful to them. »

The winners will be announced at the Gala de l’industrie des 38are Gemini Prize, September 17.

Also involved in the project were Laurent Dansereau, Simon Gionet, Matt Joycey, Helena Cauvet, Vicky Lapointe, Valérie Duhaime and Émilie Larivée-Tourangeau.
