The new SNCF app was launched on January 25. Supposed to “put order” in the offers of the railway company, it is the result the merger of Oui.sncf (the commercial site) and L’Assistant SNCF (the application dedicated to information). But the first assessment is far from positive: on the SNCF accounts on social networks, there are countless criticisms, calls for help, even insults from users distraught by the disappearance of their reservations and messages errors sent by the application.

Gilles, for example: he hadn’t really planned to print his ticket at the station
to return home to Loir-et-Cher. D
Before a withdrawal terminal at Montparnasse station in Paris, he tries to overcome the inefficiency of his account on SNCF Connect. “I’m trying to get my train ticket back. In the app, nothing happens, it’s going around in circles… Today, there are only bugs in the app!”

They too crossed Gare Montparnasse, Renée and her husband got into the queue at the SNCF shop. “I can no longer use the application, explains Renée. When I buy train tickets, I can no longer load them. So I will buy them at the ticket office, directly.” Other users encounter error messages when renewing their young or senior card.

On the side of the SNCF, we recognize “some concerns” with the update. Benoît Bouffart, the “products and tech” director explains them by the change in scope of the new app: “What you have to keep in mind is that SNCF Connect has more than 170 functions. We have a lot of customers who manage to buy their tickets or consult their journeys without any problem.”

“We will continue to improve our product, it is important for us to work with our customers to develop it.”

To respond to complaints, the SNCF has strengthened its telephone platform: 30% more advisers since the launch of the application.
