The first baby of the year 2022 in Quebec was born in the Capitale-Nationale region on the 1er January at 12.37 a.m.
The boy, named Charles was born at the Saint-François d’Assise Hospital of the CHU de Québec-Université Laval. It weighs 6.2 pounds.
The mother and child are doing well, said the CHU de Québec on social networks.
Two minutes later, at 12:39 a.m., a little girl was born at La Malbaie Hospital. The delivery went well and the little one weighs 5 pounds and 7 ounces, said the CIUSSS de la Capitale-Nationale.
“On behalf of all our teams, congratulations to the new parents and a lot of happiness in 2022,” said the CIUSSS.
At Ste-Justine Hospital in Montreal, the first baby was born at 3:09 a.m. “The little boy Évan came to brighten up his parents’ start to the year by pointing his nose early this Saturday 1er January. Congratulations to the parents and the healthcare team, ”the hospital posted on Facebook.
