After the ice, the good weather. Southern Quebec is about to experience the first days of the year when the mercury could exceed the 20°C mark.
According to Environment Canada forecasts, this bar will be exceeded for the first time next Thursday when a sunny and clear day is expected with a maximum temperature of 20°C.
This is a considerable jump from the average maximum temperature for that date which is normally 10°C, according to historical data from Environment Canada.
Then the same scenario will repeat itself on Friday and Saturday when a maximum of 21°C is forecast for these two days, despite an alternation between sun and clouds.
By then, temperatures will be cooler, but slightly above normal for the season. That is to say, it will be a maximum of 15°C on Monday, then a maximum of 12°C on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Winds from the southwest at 20 km/h gusting to 40 km/h should however give some impression of winter on Monday morning, while cloudy periods will mark the start of the week.

After the chaotic weather of the past few days, Montrealers were able to take advantage of the mild weather this Easter weekend to get some fresh air.
On the outskirts of Laurier Park, in the Plateau-Mont-Royal borough, there were many on Sunday walking around grassy areas transformed into dumping grounds for branches.
Indeed, several parks in Montreal looked bad on Sunday, four days after a heavy freezing rain broke many branches and even knocked down several trees.
