the fire on Saint-Philibert would have started from firecrackers

What could have triggered all these fire starts, in Morbihan, this Saturday August 6, 2022? This is the question that arises, after the fires which ravaged 115 hectares of vegetation, in a context of drought and high heat. The Lorient Public Prosecutor’s Office has opened two investigations.

The first concerns the fire on Saint-Philibert. At this stage, the investigators are almost certain that the flames started from firecrackers. Debris was found at the scene. And two minors, aged 14 and 16, surrendered themselves to the police. They have been heard and should be auditioned longer during the week.

The second concerns the Erdeven and Locoal-Mendon fires, which caused the most damage. Few clues, for the moment, to understand what happened.
