After 17 days of fighting since the outbreak of the Teste-de-Buch fire, an important step has just been taken this Friday, July 29. Through a press release, the prefecture informs that the work carried out in recent days in the sector makes it possible to classify the fire as being under control.
Even if the fire is not yet extinguished, the risks of resumptions are now “limits” and “a major resumption of fire is ruled out“. The prefecture recalls, however, that the fire zones remain dangerous, with “many surviving smokers” and “a significant risk of falling trees“, whose roots were destroyed by the fire.
