The fir tree of our mountains invites itself on our plates

Aromacomtois has been producing softwood essential oils from wild harvesting in the Jura massif for 5 years, in partnership with the ONF (National Forestry Office): Among the distilled varieties, there is white fir, Douglas fir, Scots pine or spruce. These essential oils are produced from the distillation of the needles, on a totally innovative still and a steam generator fed with resinous granules. Then they transform these essential oils into therapy products, cosmetics (solid and liquid soaps from a cold saponification process, shower shampoo, massage oils) or perfumery.

But what interests us today in this replay of Coté Saveurs are the gourmet products made from these softwoods. Grégory and Victor, a brewer in the Jura, have launched two beers made from essential oils of fir trees, a light blond and another more full-bodied with notes of spruce. The range has also been enriched with confectionery (sweets cooked with fir honey from the Jura, sugar-free gummies with fir honey from the Jura). This company, which is the result of a meeting and an association between three professionals, who have become friends, sharing the same values and wishing to put their energy and skills to the benefit of human and environmental issues in the long term, awaits you this weekend in open house mode!

Also discover the chef Julien Thomassin of the table of Mainaz in the country of Gex) 12500 meters high or the chef cooks the essential oils of Grégory by preparing a fillet of Jura smoked trout accompanied by a sheep yogurt in which you can add a drop of fir oil: the mixture is fresh and explosive!
