The FIQ strike supported by 72% of Quebecers, according to a Léger survey

A survey carried out on behalf of the Fédération interprofessionnelle de la santé du Québec (FIQ) shows that nearly three-quarters of Quebecers surveyed support the nurses’ strike.

The Léger survey, conducted from 1er as of December 4, shows support from 72% of those questioned for the question “I support the nurses’ strike”. These are the responses “totally” agree and “somewhat” agree added together.

Likewise, support for the strike is stronger among women (79%) than among men (65%).

Support for the nurses’ strike is also higher among younger people. Thus, 85% of Quebecers aged 18 to 34 surveyed said they supported the strike, 71% of those aged between 35 and 54 and 65% of people aged 55 and over.

Previous polls taken in November showed similar support.

The online survey was conducted among 1,070 adult Quebecers, French-speaking and English-speaking. It is not possible to assign a margin of error because online surveys are not considered truly random samples.
