The Quebec Interprofessional Health Federation (FIQ), which brings together 80,000 healthcare professionals, will be on strike again from December 11 to 14.
The FIQ has already completed two strike sessions so far: November 9 and 10 and November 23 and 24. She will make the official announcement on Wednesday of these next four days of strike.
The FIQ brings together nurses, practical nurses, respiratory therapists and clinical perfusionists. Essential services must be maintained despite the strike, but some care will be slowed down on certain units.
The Legault government’s latest offer includes salary increases of 10.3% over five years and a lump sum for everyone of $1,000 in the first year. An offer deemed “clearly insufficient” by the FIQ. The FIQ is also calling for a law on safe ratios in health care in Quebec and various measures to improve work-life balance.
