There are no longer any administrative obstacles. The Prefect of the Occitanie region, Etienne Guyot, signed this Friday the environmental authorization which paves the way for the start of works the third line of the Toulouse metro and the Airport Express line. At the beginning of March, the environmental commission of inquiry had given the green light for the launch of the site.
A start of construction scheduled for the end of 2022
Jean-Luc Moudenc, the mayor of Toulouse, welcomed this final step in a press release: “We were looking forward to it. It’s done!” A metro line project that Jean-Luc Mondenc describes as “the most efficient alternative to using the car for _reduce traffic jams and sustainably improve air quality_“.
The third line of the Toulouse metro must cover 27 kilometers between Colomiers and Labège La Cadène. The objective is to start the civil engineering works at the end of 2022 for a delivery scheduled for the end of 2028.
