Saturday April 9, on the eve of the first round of the presidential election, the town halls are preparing the polling stations.
In Saint-Gilles-du-Gard (Gard), municipal officials prepare the nine polling stations in the town, Saturday April 9, on the eve of the first round of the presidential election. “Sunday morning, we will drop off the ballot boxes, put up the flag, put up the sign indicating the polling station”, explains a municipal official. In Saint-Priest (Rhône), the agents prepare the documents which will be given to the presidents of the polling stations.
Sunday, April 10, polling stations will be open until 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. in major cities. Since Wednesday April 6, the prisoners have already started to vote and, for the first time, in the penitentiary center. “It is important for us to fulfill our duty, like every citizen”, says a prisoner, who voted. For the director, this voting solution at the prison is practical for inmates, who could not all obtain permission.
