The film “The Godfather” celebrates its 50th anniversary

The “The Godfather” trilogy is the bloody fate of a mafia family. Fifty years ago, this three-movie saga reimagined gangster stories with real-life Mafia-infiltrated filming. This masterpiece is now cult. In 1972, the young Francis Ford Coppola is still unknown. To stand out, the director will show gangsters as we have never seen them, with a code of honor. Family and betrayal are the themes of The Godfather.

But in New York, a man wanted to sabotage the shooting: Joe Colombo, one of the bosses of the New York mafia. The real godfather ends up negotiating but sets one condition: the word mafia must never be spoken. In the film, one of the heroes, Don Corleone, is played by Marlon Brando, while the actor did not have a good reputation in Hollywood. He will eventually win the Best Actor Oscar.
