“There are still a lot of people who haven’t seen it and there are a lot of people who have seen it and want to see it again, to share it, to go see it with friends, because it’s really a film that you share,” said the president of the National Federation of French Cinemas.

He believes that the effect “feel good” is in full swing for A little something extra : “When you leave there, you leave the room better than when you went in, going to see him is doing yourself good”he smiled. “It’s sincerity, generosity, the desire to please, the public felt it and that’s what makes it successful”explains Richard Patry.

It’s been 10 years with What have we done to God? ? that a French film had never had such success. It is “exceptional”, Richard Patry emphasizes, above all, he recalls, that “It’s a first film”. On May 1st, when it was released, “I don’t know any professional, including myself, who saw this film reach this height”the expert acknowledges.

Beyond the success ofA little something extraRichard Patry is delighted with the good form of the Count of Monte Cristoa feature film of more than 3 hours with Pierre Niney in the title role. “He has more than 6.5 million viewers, he will pass the 7 million mark next week at the latest”assures Richard Patry, who pays tribute to a film and an actor “exceptional”.

These films contribute to this “very very good summer for cinemas”according to this specialist: “We had an exceptional month of July compared to last year, we caught up on all our delays, we have the capacity to finish at least on last year’s admissions, around 183 million spectators”Richard Patry even bets that French cinemas will approach 190 million admissions by 2024.
