While the 35e The Telethon edition begins on the evening of Friday December 3, the France 2 teams went to Victoire. At 2 years old, the girl received treatment to fight against the genetic disease from which she is afflicted.

It is by noting in 2019 that her daughter cannot do certain simple actions that Laëtitia Henin understands that her daughter has a genetic disease. While doctors tell her that the girl will not survive more than two years, gene therapy treatment saves the life of Victoire, now 2 years old.

“I find it hard to put words to this day. It’s intense, we are with the doctors, the nurses, we know that our daughter is saved”, remembers his mother. Today, Victoire is still in a wheelchair, but is starting to stand. Thanks to horseback riding, she gradually regains the strength that she lacks. “Everything is possible despite the handicap”, concludes Laëtitia, full of hope.
