In France, some regions continue to suffer from a lack of medical personnel. Infrastructures are created to fight against this scourge. This is the case in Creuse where solutions are beginning to be found with the installation of a medical center.
To get an appointment with her children’s general practitioner, this mother did not have to wait, unlike usual, thanks to the establishment of a medical centre. “At 11 a.m. I called the doctor directly who told me to come at 11:45 a.m.“, she explains. However, all the problems are far from being settled. “There are emergencies that are only open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. If we have a problem, we have to move, it’s still a disaster”, plague a resident.
The doctors installed in this house are tenants and find certain advantages there. “The ease of communication between health professionals, of not being isolated, of being able to be absent knowing that our patients are taken care of by our colleagues”, lists Dr. Marie Bussy, general practitioner in Bourganeuf (Dig). More and more devices could be put in place in the near future in order to fight against the medical deserts which weaken many regions in France.
