In its latest report, published on Monday July 15, the NGO Oxfam denounces the lack of measures planned by the French State in the face of global warming in France. “Climate change” must be “the guideline for budgetary choices” and not for investments “scattered across several themes for adaptation to climate change”argues Amandine Richaud-Crambes, environmental engineer and urban designer.
For the expert, the various reports published by the High Council for Climate or even the Court of Auditors show that the State’s action is not sufficient, “that there is a problem with encryption and signage” budgets. For Amandine Richaud-Crambes, “Not only is there not enough investment, but also it is not always clear where it is being directed” and “not necessarily at the right targets”. These budgets are according to her “scattered across several themes for adaptation to climate change”.
Furthermore, Amandine Richaud-Crambes denounces part of the investments made by the State in green finance: “These are often brown budgets, that is to say, they have a pollution impact behind them.“According to Oxfam, there are 67 billion euros in subsidies distributed in these activities which contribute to climate change, particularly in fossil fuels.
In terms of “climate change, sustainable development in general”Amandine Richaud-Crambes pleads for a response “systemic, that is to say that it must be injected everywhere, at a more or less priority level”.
