Among the pieces to discover “What happened to Bette Davis and Joan Crawford” with Michel Fau and Amanda Lear.

In 1962 Robert Aldrich directed What Ever Happened to Baby Jane with 2 oversized actresses Bette Davis and Joan Crawford. This work becomes mythical and the chaotic relations between the two stars on the set, fuel the curiosity of Hollywood. Jean Marboeuf invented a bitter conversation between these two creatures, before, during and after the making of this supercharged film. This caustic dialogue overshadows the conflict between these two sacred monsters of American cinema, but – the author’s imagination going beyond the anecdote – it also tells the absurdity of the profession of actor, the selfishness of the human, the hysteria of being and our wandering in this artificial world.

To represent Joan Crawford’s glamor and madness on stage, an appearance was needed… Amanda Lear, with her atypical and lucid career, her sophisticated derision and her devastating slaughter, embodies the tragic fate of Crawford, but also evokes the grotesque bewilderment of the artist; through this fictitious correspondence, she talks to us about us and she talks to us about herself… while hoping to entertain our gloomy daily life!
