Wednesday, February 15, nearly a year after the start of the war in Ukraine, Ukrainian intelligence fears a Russian offensive. Journalist Stéphanie Pérez, correspondent for France Télévisions in Ukraine, explains: “Russia would prepare a new offensive in a few days. An offensive which would coincide with the first anniversary of the war. We know that Vladimir Putin likes symbols. Thousands of Russian soldiers would therefore be massed at the borders”
An almost normal life
In Ukraine, the population is waiting. On the one hand, the fighting continues, especially on the eastern front line with the famous battle of Bakhmout. “And then, moreover, a country that tries to live almost normally. In the big cities, like Dnipro, you can see a lot of people in the shops, in the restaurants. And then all of a sudden, everyone sheltered world”, says Stephanie Pérez. According to her, “the population knows that this war can last for a very long time”.
