With the blockade imposed by Israel on Gaza, residents face shortages. The humanitarian situation is worrying since hospitals lack electricity.
In Gaza, scenes of panic and distress took place in overwhelmed hospitals on Thursday October 12. The injured arrive continuously and are sometimes placed on the ground. Among them, many children. Doctors lack everything. “The electricity shortage is leading us towards a great humanitarian catastrophe”warns Dr Youssef Abu Al-Rish, Minister Delegate for Health.
Increasingly difficult living conditions in Gaza
For the sixth consecutive day, the Israeli army is relentlessly bombing the Gaza Strip. According to local authorities, the death toll is 1,354 and thousands injured. Entire neighborhoods have been wiped off the map, even though Israel officially targets Hamas sites. The blockade decided by Israel makes living conditions increasingly difficult. The International Committee of the Red Cross is warning and fears that the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip will become “very quickly unmanageable”.
