He left to join his darling daughter. Johan Daviet, father of little Lola, died this Friday, February 23, 2024 at the age of 49, announced the family lawyer to the TF1 legal service. This information was initially revealed by The voice of the North. An obituary was published a few hours ago, and reveals that the man died “in its 50th year in Fouquereuil, in Pas-de-Calais“. For the moment, the exact circumstances of the death of this father, bruised for a year and a half by the assassination of his beloved daughter, are not known. The regional newspaper simply mentions “a sudden death”without giving more information.
Johan Daviet’s life changed on October 14, 2022, when his daughter, Lola Daviet, 12 years old, is found dead in a trunk by a homeless person, hidden in the common areas of a building in the 19th arrondissement of Paris where the little family resided. The suspect was quickly identified: Dahbia B., arrested and imprisoned, has since been indicted for “murder of a minor under the age of fifteen”. She will also have to answer for acts of “rape, torture and acts of barbarism”. The case is still awaiting trial; trial that Johan Daviet wanted to attendas he told Audrey Crespo-Mara in an interview he gave her for Sept à Huit.

Indeed, on October 22, 2023, Johan Daviet agreed to reveal his daily life to the cameras of Seven to Eight. A year after the death of his daughter, the man revealed that he had immersed his grief in alcohol. His family destroyed by this sordid assassination, his wife had left himand he had since returned to live with his parents. “The alleged culprit didn’t just take my daughter’s life, she took an entire family. My wife and I are in the process of divorcing today. I’m having a very hard time because I love my wife. Maybe I’m partly to blame because I was sad, and I fell back into my pain. I started drinking again. It all fell apart anyway. My job, our job… Imagine going working again where our daughter was murdered! Our home, everything. We lost almost everything” confided the bruised father, who leaves behind an eldest son, aged 19.
The details of the brutal death of Johan Daviet should be known in the coming days; did the man die of a heart attack, kill himself, was he murdered ? At this stage, no avenue has been ruled out. The only certainty: the man will be buried alongside his late daughter, in the Lillers cemetery. The mayor of Fouquereuil, Gérald Ogiez, interviewed by La voix du Nord, refused to pay tribute to the fifty-year-old, and simply evoked the memory “from a village man”.
