The day after the speech of the President of the Republic, Emmanuel Macron, the great-nephew of Brigitte Macron was the victim of a violent attack, this Tuesday, May 16, 2023, in front of the family chocolate factory “Trogneux” located in Amiens. As explained by our colleagues from France Info, the facts would have taken place in the evening, just after the speech of the Head of State.

Very quickly, Brigitte Macron reacted to denounce “the cowardice, stupidity and violence” of the attackers of her great-nephew to AFP. “I am in total solidarity with my family and in constant contact, since 11 p.m. yesterday, with Jean-Baptiste (my grand-nephew, victim of the attack) and Jean-Alexandre (my nephew, father of the victim)” a- she declared before concluding: “I have repeatedly denounced this violence which can only lead to the worst”.

It was then Jean-Alexandre, the father of the victim who testified in order to say expressly what happened. “Last night after the president’s speech, an unauthorized demonstration took place in the city center of Amiens. There were about forty people. My son was coming home around 10 p.m., he opened the door, at that time a dozen individuals who recognize him begin to insult him, throw themselves on him and beat him up, several times punching him in the face” he explains before adding: “They thrown to the ground and they beat him with kicks in the head, in the temple, in the fingers, in the arms…”.
