Three days after being knocked down by a motorbike on a pedestrian crossing in Vallauris, in the Alpes-Maritimes, little Kamilya, 7, died. Her father announced it during a support rally on Sunday, September 1.
A father’s dejection and a mother’s suffering. The parents of little Kamilya, supported by their relatives, managed to say a few words after the announcement of the death of their 7-year-old daughter. “I was told that she did not suffer, that is the most important thing. Even in her death, she did not cry.”painfully comforts Slim Ossaya, the little girl’s father.
Added to their grief is a sense of injustice, because the motorcyclist who hit their daughter in the back as she was crossing a pedestrian crossing was not placed in pre-trial detention. “Thank you French justice (…) No respect for our daughter, nor for ourselves”Kamilya’s father wrote on Facebook.
Before his trial, the motorcyclist in question is therefore free, on condition that he surrenders his license to the courts and goes to the police station twice a month. He is also prohibited from going to Vallauris (Alpes-Maritimes), from contacting the victim’s family and from leaving the department. These measures are insufficient according to the families, but understandable according to a specialist, because the suspect was not driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs and was unknown to the police. The prosecution has appealed this decision.
