The fatal fireworks of Cholet were fired by a company from Ille-et-Vilaine

It’s a Breton company specializing in illuminations and pyrotechnic shows who shot the fireworks in Cholet, this Thursday, July 14. HTP Société, based in Guichen in Ille-et-Vilaine was to perform the show but an incident caused the death of two people: a 7-year-old boy and his 24-year-old sister. Seven other people were injured, one seriously.

The Bretillian company is a regular at pyrotechnic shows. Between July 13 and 14, HTP Company fired 120 fireworks across Brittany, Loire-Atlantique and Maine-et-Loire. It is also this company which provided the shows in Rennes, Belle-Île-en-mer and Ancenis, near Nantes.

The mayor of Cholet claims to work with HTP Société “For years”. “It’s a society that is used to fireworks, a serious society”, he adds.

The management of HTP Company did not wish to communicate further. A manslaughter investigation is open. It is entrusted to the Departmental Security of Maine-et-Loire.
