Marc Cerrone has been refining this electro symphonic concert project for months. A few hours before going on stage at the Palais Nikaïa, he checks each of the settings. The French disco icon pays attention to every detail: everything must be perfect for the world premiere of his Electro Symphonic Orchestra. In fifty years of career, Marc Cerrone has always nourished the same motivation, that of bringing crowds together around catchy and danceable music.
At 71, the electro funk dance legend composed most of his songs on synthesizers and computers. But today, there is no question of giving in to the ease of artificial intelligence (AI). For him the added value of a piece, It is “emotion”. “Machines can bring many good things but not the emotional one. I hear that soon we will be able to deal with artificial intelligence, certainly not! We can do anything with it, but not human emotion. As for me, my music speaks to the body before speaking to the head”, assures the musician who has sold more than 30 million albums worldwide.

After Nice, Marc Cerrone exports his new format on tour throughout France in 2024 and 2025 and promises a live album. From November 3 to 19, 2023, the “It’s not classic” festival offers pplus thirty free concerts in thirteen towns in the Alpes-Maritimes. The idea is always to bring classical music to everyone through new collaborations. 230 musicians are scheduled, including Edouard Macarez & Sandro Compagnon, Les Frères Colle, Kyle Eastwood, Romain Leleu, and André Manoukian.
