Today, it is the turn of famous chef Philippe Etchebest to receive this honor. The President of the Republic Emmanuel Macron indeed presented Philippe Etchebest with the insignia of Knight of the Legion of Honor during a ceremony which took place a few hours ago.
We remind you that to obtain this famous legion, you must have eminent merit in the exercise, for at least 20 years, of activities for the benefit of the general interest and the Nation, have a clean criminal record and good morals. and be proposed by a minister, after study of a file compiled at the request of a central administration, a prefect, an association, a political figure (mayor, deputy, etc.) or a group of at least 50 people (for the citizens’ initiative).
The famous chef has just been honored for his decades-long contribution to French cuisine. On Instagram, the one who appears in various culinary shows on television said: “This honorary title represents for me the commitment I have to promoting French cuisine and our republican values.” Philippe Etchebest adds this decoration of Merit to his bow, alongside the two stars which he already possesses in the culinary world.
During the ceremony, the chief recalled how important it is for him to “take a stand to defend French culinary heritage”. He told the Sud Ouest newspaper about his way of working: “I want to transmit my values: simplicity, love of things well done, respect for others and for difference”.
