The family of Jean-Pierre Ferland has agreed to the organization of a national funeral

The family of singer-songwriter Jean-Pierre Ferland accepted on Monday the offer made the day before by Prime Minister François Legault to hold a national funeral. The family’s communications team confirmed this early this evening.

Jean-Pierre Ferland had been hospitalized since February 14 at the CHSLD Desy, in Saint-Gabriel-de-Brandon, in the Lanaudière region. This is where he died on Saturday.
