When Emmanuel Macron announced the dissolution of the Assembly on Sunday, RN activists exulted at the party headquarters in Paris.

More than 31% of the votes for the RN in the European elections and a President of the Republic who dissolves the National Assembly: Sunday June 9 was rich in emotions at the HQ of the National Rally, with an election evening in a pavilion in the Floral Park in Paris.

First there were the cries of joy upon discovering the results at 8 p.m., then the appearance of Emmanuel Macron on the big screen, announcing the dissolution. The young RN activists are literally jumping for joy. They hoped for this dissolution without really believing in it. “They have betrayed for years and years, it is time to give the French people their voice back, he explains. And it’s now, it’s our moment, we have all the momentum on our side, we’re ready.”

The movement is ready to campaign to aim for a majority, this is also the message sent by Marine Le Pen who calls on the French to give her a majority. “We are ready to exercise power if the French trust us. I call on the French to come and join us to form a majority around the National Rally in the service of the only cause that guides our steps: France!”

Her speech had barely finished, Marine Le Pen and the main party executives left the election night. “We are going to work this evening on the legislative elections. We have to order paper, create documents, our inaugurations are almost complete. The deadlines are very short,” reacts Gilles Pennelle, regional councilor for Brittany.

Almost all the candidates for the legislative elections were nominated because the RN had anticipated a possible dissolution, in accordance with the “Matignon plan” on which executives like Philippe Olivier were working. The latter is already imagining the themes of the campaign: “We are going to run an extremely political campaign on a major alternation, that is to say a fairly profound change in all government policy. We are ready for alliances, all of this will be coordinated in the coming hours.” The RN is already calling on its candidates to go into the field to try to obtain a majority and send Jordan Bardella to Matignon.
