The elected rebellious France accuses the European Union of “leaving quagmires” and “then barricading itself”.

“The European Union must assume its welcoming responsibilities”, calls Saturday, November 13 on franceinfo the deputy La France Insoumise Clémentine Autain, about the migrants stranded at the border between Poland and Belarus. “We cannot let them die, either at the Belarusian border or in the Mediterranean”, she calls out.

Clémentine Autain denounces the fact that certain countries of the European Union may “carry out military interventions in Afghanistan, do not support the Kurds, leave quagmires, and then barricade themselves”, do not welcome people exiled from these countries, “when they are fleeing civil war”. Poland has erected a barrier along its border with Belarus, and rejects migrants on the Belarusian side, also denying access to the border area to humanitarian NGOs and the media.

The deputy La France Insoumise urgently calls for “resolve the humanitarian crisis”, to let NGOs and States intervene to help people in exile, forced to live in the cold and in the forest. Eleven migrants have died on the border between the EU and Belarus, according to media estimates.
