Fatal attack on a van in Eure: the escaped detainee and his accomplices are still wanted
(France 2)

The search continues on Tuesday May 14. An inmate and his accomplices fled after the attack on a prison van at the Incarville tollbooth, in Eure. Two officers were killed.

All police stations and gendarmes in France received Mohamed Amra’s file on Tuesday May 14. Described as a dangerous individual, the police are mobilized to find him. It was him that the commando made escape. He is the only one whose identity investigators know. The manhunt has begun, but the escape seems as well planned as the attack. On video surveillance images from the Incarville tollbooth (Eure), we can see the suspects getting into a car and driving away in reverse.

It’s hard to know which route they took. 20 kilometers from the toll, in Houetteville (Eure), their vehicle was found late in the morning. It was set on fire on a path in the middle of the fields. The scientific police inspected the carcass of the vehicle for a long time, under the stunned eyes of the neighbors. Mohamed Amra, the escaped detainee, has the profile of a notorious bandit and drug trafficker. Nicknamed “The Fly”, he was convicted on multiple occasions. He is also indicted for kidnapping and sequestration resulting in death. During the four hours following the attack, the hawk plan was activated, to no avail. From now on, the search is extended to the entire territory.
