Every streaming platformg try to do well, even if it means investing astronomical sums in its programs.
Who will emerge victorious from the fight between streaming platforms? Friday, September 2, Prime Video released The Rings of Power on its service. This series, taking place in the Lord of the Rings universe, is the most expensive in history with a budget of 465 million dollars per season. It’s double that of another series from a beloved universe: House of Dragons, inspired by Game of Thrones, with $200 million for the first season. For a consumer of series, there is no secret: “They know we’re all going to be behind watching the show.”
If Disney +, Prime Video and many others are struggling to be the largest streaming platform, Netflix, a pioneer of its kind, has seen the number of its subscribers drop for the first time in its history. Disney+ also claims to have surpassed Netflix in number of subscribers worldwide.
