A plot worthy of spy movies. Gilles Artigues, first centrist deputy to the mayor Les Républicains de Saint-Etienne between 2014 and 2022, was trapped and filmed without his knowledge by the entourage of the city councilor, Gaël Perdriau, while he was in a hotel room in the company of an escort boy who had been reserved for him, in 2014 in Paris, reveals Mediapart (article reserved for subscribers).

“This father, very involved in the Catholic community, was then blackmailed so that this compromising video would not be disclosed”, writes the investigative site. Objective of the maneuver: “to contain the influence of the centrist elected official, whose local establishment was feared in the municipal majority in the event of possible political dissent”.

According to Mediapart, it is a municipal elected official of the majority, Samy Kéfi-Jérôme, then became delegated regional councilor and vice-president of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, who places a camera in Gilles Artigues’ hotel room in the winter of 2014, thus succeeding in filming him receiving anot “erotic massage” from an escort boy who had been booked in order to trap the chosen Modem.

The former companion of Samy Kéfi-Jérôme, Gilles Rossary-Lenglet, assures Mediapart to have taken care of this operation with him. He also claims to have touched with Samy Kéfi-Jérôme “50,000 euros” on the part of the municipality, via subsidies paid to Saint-Etienne associations which would then have remunerated him. Contacted by the investigation site, Samy Kefi-Jerome asserted the protection of his “private life” to refuse to answer questions, while denouncing “confabulations” of his ex.
