Parking will become chargeable for two-wheelers in Paris from Thursday 1 September. The measure divides in the capital.
Scooter and motorcycle users will have to pay to park in Paris. For these vehicles, free parking ends on Thursday 1 September. “It deprives people a little more of their freedom.” says a biker. “If there are only bikes left, it will be perfect“, rejoices a cyclist.
The price of parking will differ according to the residents, who will be able to benefit from a subscription at 22.50 euros per year plus 0.75 euro cents per day. For visitors, the rate will be 2 to 3 euros per hour depending on the district and up to 37.50 euros per day. A salesperson thinks it’s too expensive. “Logically, in a car space, we put between three and four motorized two-wheelers. So we should pay between three and four times less”believes Jean-Marc Bellotticoordinator of the Federation of Angry Bikers. Paris wants to set up a greener city.
