The emergency reception at the Jean Leclaire hospital in Sarlat closes again this Wednesday morning, at half past eight for 24 hours, until Thursday morning at 8:30 a.m. You will have to call 15 in an emergency and you cannot go to the hospital entrance directly if you are injured or sick. This will also be the case from 8:30 p.m. Thursday evening, until Sunday morning at 8:30 a.m. That is 84 hours in all in the week.
84 hours of “filtering” this week
The hospital did not find enough doctors to provide on-call duty. It is already the fifth time since the beginning of the summer that the hospital must set up this “filtering” in the emergency room for lack of staff. In particular, a single doctor will ensure night call instead of two in normal times.
The emergency door will remain closed and a red telephone next to the entrance will allow you to call the medical regulation of the SAMU. On the phone, the doctor at number 15 will tell us if we have to go to the emergency room, if he sends an ambulance, or if we have to make an appointment for later at the hospital or at the local medical office.
