“Eya needs serenity, calm. Going back to school is not in the news, it’s not urgent”, confides this Tuesday morning on France Bleu Isère, Maître Mélanie Muridi, lawyer for the mother of little Eya, kidnapped last Thursday by her father in Fontaine (Isère). “The urgency is that she can try to find a certain normality”, says Me Muridi.
The mother and the little girl have returned to France
The 10-year-old girl and her mother are back in France, “they rest far from the media tumult”, emphasizes their lawyer who recalls the “2,000 kilometres, out and back” made by car by his client to pick up her child in Denmark where she was found on Friday. Eya needs “to rebuild” explains the lawyer. She and her mother”are necessarily marked by an event as dramatic as a kidnapping”, advance Me Muridi underlining the violence of the facts.
“The father and his accomplice, hooded, gassed the mother and then pulled the little one by the hair to bring her into a vehicle and then flee to northern Europe.”
Eya’s kidnapping triggered the opening of a judicial investigation by the Grenoble prosecutor’s office, which had also launched a kidnapping alert and a European arrest warrant. “International cooperation has been strong in this case“, recognizes the lawyer. Eya’s father and his accomplice are still detained in Denmark. They will soon be handed over to the French authorities, “it is a question of procedure following the execution of the European arrest warrant”, explains the lawyer. Eya and his mother are going to be a civil party, they “count on the investigation, on the judicial information, of course on a trial to ensure that their lives become as normal as possible”. Me Mélanie Muridi confirms that the mother of the little one had already denounced violence on the part of Eya’s father, pushing her to come and settle in France a few years ago.
