David Hallyday signs his big comeback in full light! Five years after the death of his rocker father, the artist now offers a new single, a singular title since he had composed it in 2002 to offer it to Johnny. A project which had not succeeded and which he therefore decided to release, 21 years later, as a posthumous tribute, entitled The happiest of men. A song that will be part of his next album which will be released on June 16, 2023, followed by a tour next year. For now, it’s a documentary by Paul Belmondo which is about to be released on April 3 on Canal+ Docsdevoted to the 56-year-old singer, full of testimonies from relatives and where the latter evokes his passions, his parents, his music… It is in this context that David Hallyday was invited to speak with Steven Bellery on RTLfor the broadcast Indulge, which will air this Sunday, March 26. An interview in which the artist returned to the repeated absences of his father, “he was often gone, often on tour”, and on this lack which has finally “made stronger” and allowed him to “mount somesafety barriers, while moving forward”. But the singer also affirmed that he did not want his father and recounts with tenderness amusing anecdotes shared with the “Taulier” of rock in France.

“Through difficult things you reconnect with your family, your whole family…”

The journalist from RTL also wanted to address his complicity with his sister, Laura Smet, who often posts pictures on her Instagram account where we see all the love that these two have for each other. The latest, on March 8, where the 39-year-old actress published an unpublished photo accompanied by the caption: “With my heart, David Hallyday, love you”. We can see Nathalie Baye’s daughter kissing her big brother on the cheek, a very complicit moment between the two artists. Touched, the latter replied in a story: “Never very far my sister”. An exchange of messages that delights their fans. To Steven Bellery, David Hallyday says: “We have a small age difference, we met halfway, let’s say, with Laura. We sang together on a title called “We are scared”, I think we look a lot alike somehow, we got to know and love each other somewhere. Because when you don’t grow up with someone, even if it’s your sister, it’s less obvious. But we get along really well, we have a very good relationship.”, explains the singer. And the interviewer continues, addressing the next documentary: “Laura reveals, in this documentary, that it was when your dad, in 2010, was hospitalized that for her, your relationship was truly tied…”, he asks her. And the dad of Ilona, ​​Emma and Cameron to confess: “Yes, of course, through difficult things, you reconnect with your family, your whole family… Well, she was younger than me, and in the position of a big brother, I had to be there… And yes we ended up together at that time and we have remained very close since…”
