The Élysée scooter used by François Hollande to join Julie Gayet will be sold at auction on the 26 next May, at the Château d’Artigny, in Indre-et-Loire, reports France Bleu Limousin on Thursday April 4. The ad was posted online on Tuesday by the Rouillac auction house. The vehicle had been “used by President François Hollande to join incognito, gallantly, the actress Julie Gayet, rue du Cirque, on New Year’s Day 2014”, it is written in the ad. Its starting price is set at 10 000 euros.

This Piaggio scooter, three wheels, 125 cm³, 34 000 km, has already changed hands several times since it was sold by the Élysée in 2015. The last owners, Patrick and Manola, bought it to celebrate their golden wedding anniversary. François Hollande even made a dedication to them in his book Upheavalspublished in 2022 : “To Patrick and Manola who had the chance to ride my scooter to better share their happiness”, “this scooter is the right one”.
